Mel's Glass

The subject of Mel’s work is generally concerned with the study of feelings, emotions, relationships and life experiences.
These autobiographical themes come from her upbringing, childhood and into adulthood, making friends, University and employment. Navigating being a tired person through somewhat impaired physical health and undertaking people watching and observing the world go by. Mel continually finds we are joined by these shared experiences.
Working in the medium of glass which is subject to traditional values, Mel explores the expressive nature of her painting and marries this with honing the changing light travelling through the glass.
