Mel Montgomery-Johnson, Art Portfolio

Originally studying 3D Design and Ceramics, also sculpture at Carmarthenshire College of Technology and Art. I then went on to complete my degree in Architectural Stained Glass and Ceramics at Sunderland University in 1994.
Following this was a relocation to Somerset and setting up of The Stained Glass Studio, Gallery and Shop. This was supported by the success of gaining The Princes Trust Award then subsequently The Shell Award for being one of the country’s most promising businesses.
I have undertaken commissions, repairs exhibitions and teaching. Most notably for The BBC, Dunster Castle and The Guild in Bristol.
Returning to Wales, Motherhood and with the advent of age, there is a move away from utility towards intuitive response and expression.
